Write the most effective copy for Instagram!
It's the year 2020 and by now we all know that engagement plays a crucial role when it comes to social media marketing.
Here at Kynda Creative Agency we are always trying to improve our social media game and staying up to date with the trends.
Of course Instagram is a platform to share fun stories, images of your pet and let's not forget...your acai bowl. It has however evolved throughout the years and has become one of the most important platforms for businesses.
Copy is always one of the most important factors that we take into consideration and always insist on for our clients to consider.
Here are a few things to take into consideration when writing copy on Instagram:
1 - Make it short and sweet :)
Your copy or your Instagram caption should be informative and short.
Get to the point!
For example; if you are promoting your new product you could write about it in one or two sentences and have your audience go to the link in bio to read more about it.
"Our new ice cream flavors are finally here, and this is our own favorite, the peanut butter chocolate!
There are 25 more new tasty flavors linked in our bio!!"
Know who you are talking to. Just like how you wouldn't talk to your friend's grandparents the same way you talk to your 4 year old nephew in real life, your audience are expecting a tone that goes with your branding guidelines.
For example; we are a creative agency and we shouldn't have the same tone as an investment firm or a corporate company. We're much more chilled and we are really here to help our audience grow.
So a friendly tone like this would be best for us "How’s your #Monday schedule looking? We’ve got meetings then coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee..."
Remember, at the end of the day it is a social platform, so socialize more and just like how you would in real life with your customers.
This is one of the most important things to consider when writing copy. A call to action could be something like "hit the link in our bio to get 10% off your next purchase" OR "tag 3 friends under this post for a chance to win a brunch for 4 this weekend at our locations in Toronto"
This could go along with competitions, or even simple questions which bring a lot engagement to your posts.
Have your audience solve a riddle for a chance to win a trip to the Bahamas!
This is such a simple yet underestimated way to get more impressions on your posts.
Create a unique hashtag for your own brand like we have done #KyndaCreative. People can now follow hashtags and you could use this in your competitions or even having UGC ( User Generated Content) as well.
People can post pictures using your hashtags for a chance to win or even just for your brand to repost them.
Other hashtags are important too, for example we use #CreativeAgency #AdAgency #Videography #Photography and #Toronto all the time. These just represent who Kynda Creative is as an agency and simply our location which is Toronto, Canada.
Next time you use hashtags make sure you compare your post to your previous posts and see if those hashtags have gotten you more impressions or not. It's a game of testing what works for you best.
Never over do it though! It can be annoying to your audience.
